Oh, Dubrovnik, always a pleasure. This is a story about two people and their intimate destination wedding in Dubrovnik with the closest family and friends.
We do not like crowds which are a synonym for Dubrovnik, but on the other hand, its beautiful architecture and the amazing waterfront is an ideal backgrounds for a wedding story. We got the opportunity to meet Jasmina & Matt, two lovely people that arrived with their closest family and friends from all around the globe to get married in Dubrovnik.
After an initial Skype chat, we finally met them, and to be honest, their love is contagious. Sometimes we get to shoot people who say that they do not kiss and hug that much. But not these two. They were like born for each other and born to be in front of the camera so it was much easier for us and we left them to act natural.
The wedding took place on the simple yet beautiful terrace of Hotel Neptun with an amazing view of the nearby Grebeni islands and rocks.
The intimate wedding ceremony was very emotional and Andrea almost started to cry the moment the newlyweds left for some private time and a glass of champagne after exchanging their vows.
After the ceremony, guests went to the beach bar and we took Jasmina and Matt to the old city of Dubrovnik for a portrait session. We managed to avoid crowds of people while still capturing the old architecture of Dubrovnik: Sponza Palace, Rectors Palace, the historic port of Gruž and some less crowded narrow streets within the walls.
In the meantime, the ceremony setting was transformed into the dinner and dance floor set from a lovely wedding planner Kike from YesIDu. Before the blue hour, we took the newlyweds to the waterfront for a short session on the rocks. There we captured some favourite photos of them, unstaged, natural and in the moment. The party went on late in the night with tons of Michael Jackson moves.
