Croatia has a warm climate so we can say it has warm to hot summers and moderately cold winters. That being said, it is ideal to visit all year round. July and August are the most popular months, however, we would always recommend May/June or September/October. It is not so hot and there are fewer visitors, which means it is more convenient for an elopement anywhere in Croatia. If you have a limited budget, these months are also great because it is low season and prices of accommodation are lower. If you are a fan of winter and snowy scenery, then December and January are the best.
Here is our detailed post about what can you expect from the weather in each month in Croatia.

Required documentation and the legal process for a marriage license in Croatia may vary from nationality to nationality so we advise you to check the requirements with the Croatian embassy in your country. Generally, the only legal type of marriage in Croatia is a civil ceremony. For this, you need to have an officiant and two witnesses. Additionally, you can choose to have a religious ceremony or, typically for elopements, you can also have an unofficial ceremony and do the papers in your own country. Price and taxes for officiant vary according to the location of the ceremony.
